Wilmington Wegmans to Host Hiring Event on May 9 Ahead of Fall Opening

Wilmington, DE, 5/4/2022 – Hiring is underway for Wegmans Food Markets’ new Wilmington, Delaware store. Located just outside the city of Wilmington at the intersection of Lancaster Pike and Barley Mill Road in New Castle County, the new store is scheduled to open this fall. Wegmans plans to employ roughly 450 people at the Wilmington store, a majority of whom will be hired locally. The store is hosting a virtual hiring event on Monday, May 9^th from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. seeking to fill 85 full-time positions.

Available full-time positions include customer service team members across various departments of the store as well as culinary professionals such as line cooks. The Wilmington Wegmans is part of a larger development including residential, office, and retail facilities. Similar to Wegmans’ other stores, the 84,000 square-foot supermarket will have a European open-air market look and feel, offering an abundance of choice, the best ingredients, thousands of organic options, restaurant-quality prepared food, and consistent low prices.
