What is Instacart?

Instacart is a company Wegmans is partnering with to provide the service of online ordering, shopping and delivery of groceries to your home.

Who is doing the shopping and delivery?

Instacart has a network of Instacart Personal Shoppers. The Personal Shoppers pick, check out, and pack specific items on a customer’s shopping list and then deliver the order directly to the customer.

What are the delivery hours?

The typical delivery hours are between 9 am and 10 pm.  Visit Instacart’s site for more information about the general service hours and available delivery windows in your area. Instacart account creation is required. (On holidays, delivery hours are subject to change per store holiday hours.)

How far in advance can I place my order/what is the delivery window?

Orders can be placed up to 7 days prior to delivery and will be delivered within a one-hour timeframe. Orders can be scheduled for delivery in as little as one hour or within the next 2 hours, depending on Instacart’s Personal Shoppers availability.

What products will Wegmans be offering for delivery with Instacart?

Customers will be able to order most items available in-store including frozen items, produce, meat, seafood and prepared foods. The below items will not be available through Instacart at this time:

  • Alcohol
  • Pharmacy prescription
  • OTC drugs / products where ID is required
  • Catering
  • Market Café subs, pizza, hot & cold food bars
  • Special order products (e.g. custom cakes)
  • Gift cards

Where does Instacart deliver?

Instacart will be delivering to addresses within 20-30 minute drive time from selected Wegmans stores in VA, MD, PA, MA, NJ & NY. Instacart cannot deliver across state lines (e.g. Philadelphia from NJ, DC from VA). Delivery areas are typically defined by ZIP codes. To check if your ZIP code is serviced by Instacart, please go to instacart.wegmans.com and type in your ZIP code when prompted.



How do I place an order through Instacart?

After signing up for an Instacart account, orders are placed through the Instacart virtual store.  Visit our instacart page for more details on placing an order.

How much does the Instacart delivery cost?

Instacart charges a delivery fee to cover the cost of having your favorite Wegmans products delivered to your door.  Read more about Instacart’s delivery fees

Wegmans has Consistent Low Prices on items your family buys the most.  We add a price increase to cover the cost of shopping your order.  Enter your Wegmans Shoppers Club number to receive any discounts for the lowest prices available.

What if an ordered item is out of stock in-store?

Instacart’s ordering system allows you to “enable substitutes” in your order. If you choose to do this, Instacart’s Personal Shoppers select an item that is comparable to the original based on brand, flavor, size, dietary considerations, and price. Personal Shoppers confirm these “replacement items” with the customer before checking out. 

How can I cancel an order?

To cancel an order simply log back into Instacart’s site and find your pending order. You can cancel an order online up to the time Instacart’s Personal Shoppers starts picking the order in the store. Typically, this is 1-2 hours before the requested delivery time.

How can I change an order to add or delete items?

Log back into Instacart’s site and find your pending order. You can add or delete items to an order until Instacart’s Personal Shopper completes shopping your order and checks out. Typically, this is 30-60 minutes before the requested delivery time.

How can I follow the status of my order?

You can follow the status of your order both on your desktop/laptop computer or on your smartphone. You can choose to receive notification when Instacart’s Personal Shopper starts picking your order and/or at checkout.

How do I recognize an Instacart Personal Shopper at my door?

Personal Shoppers will wear a lanyard containing their Instacart identification card around their neck. 

How do I return product I am not satisfied with?

All returns will be handled by the Instacart team. You can contact the Instacart Customer Happiness Team at 1-888-246-7822 or at help@instacart.com.  Please note - the purchase price will be reimbursed to the form of payment used for the purchase.

Can I place an Instacart order using the Shopping List through wegmans.com or the Wegmans App?

At this point, Wegmans and Instacart are not able to share lists between their websites and apps.  However, if you add your Shoppers Club number to your Instacart order, you will see the products you purchased through Instacart show up on your MY PRODUCTS list and a record of your purchase will be added to the MY RECEIPTS section of the Wegmans website and app.

Can I use coupons in the Instacart virtual store?

There may be special coupons offered in Instacart virtual store. However, there is no way to input a Wegmans Digital Coupons or any other coupon in your possession when you check out online.

If you add your Shoppers Club number to your Instacart order or account, any Wegmans Digital Coupons on your account will be applied to your order at store check out. Within a week of your delivery, you will receive the value of the coupon as an Instacart credit toward your next Wegmans delivery order.

A Wegmans Digital Coupon was redeemed on my Instacart order but doesn’t show up on my receipt. How can I get the Digital Coupon back or a credit for the amount?

At this time, we can’t apply paper or digital coupons to your order during your online checkout with Instacart. As long as your Shoppers Club number is added to your Instacart order or account, any clipped digital coupons will redeem when your order is checked out at the store. In order to ensure you don’t lose out on the value of the digital coupon you will receive a credit in the amount of your coupon to apply to your next Wegmans order.  Within a week of your delivery you will receive an email from Instacart notifying you of the credit on your account.

Where can I find my Wegmans Shoppers Club number to input in my Instacart profile?

You can obtain your required Wegmans Shoppers Club number (7 or 9 digit) at the Service Desk in the store (ID required) or by calling Wegmans Shoppers Club Customer Service at 1-800-848-1555.

What happens if prices change between when I place my order and when it is delivered?

The price you pay for a product ordered through Instacart is the price the product was at time you placed your order.  Price changes at the time of delivery do not affect your payment for the original order.

How do I get a copy of my receipt?

To access a receipt, please print the receipt emailed to you from Instacart or log-in to your Instacart account to access past receipts.

Why are the prices on MY RECEIPTS on wegmans.com different than the prices on my Instacart receipt?

Why should I input my Shoppers Club number into my Instacart profile?

Enter your Wegmans Shoppers Club number to receive any discounts for the lowest prices available.  In addition, including your Shoppers Club number will ensure that the products purchased through an Instacart transaction will appear in your Wegmans Online Account and you will receive any product recall notifications. 

Where do I input my Wegmans Shoppers Club number?

Your Shoppers Club account number can be entered during your Instacart checkout or at “Account>Your Account>Loyalty Cards”.
