Wegmans Ballantyne

With opening day quickly approaching, Ballantyne Store Manager Patrick McGuinness and his team are busy putting the final touches on the store and preparing to welcome their new neighbors. But October 14 won’t be Ballantyne’s first introduction to Wegmans. For nearly a year, the team has been building connections across Charlotte by providing donations, establishing partnerships, and meeting with local nonprofit leaders.

Wegmans Food Markets announced today it will celebrate the grand opening of its first store in Charlotte, North Carolina at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, October 14. The 110,000 square-foot supermarket is located in Ballantyne at 11550 North Community House Road.

Wegmans Food Markets is now hiring and training full-time employees for its first store in the Charlotte, North Carolina region. Located in Ballantyne at 11550 North Community House Road, the store is scheduled to open in fall 2026. Wegmans plans to employ approximately 450 people at this location; the majority employees will be new to the company and hired locally. 

Wegmans Food Markets, Inc. and Northwood Investors LLC and its affiliates are excited to announce plans for a new Wegmans location on the Ballantyne® campus. Known for its unmatched customer service, restaurant foods, one-stop shopping and consistent low prices, the popular grocer will be situated at North Community House Road on the east side of Ballantyne. Wegmans is targeting opening by the third quarter of 2026.
