Boiling Method

  • Bring large pot of salted water to a boil on HIGH. 
  • Carefully submerge lobster(s) head first into water; cover. 
  • Continue cooking according to the chart below until the internal temp of the tail at the thickest part reaches 145 degrees. Carefully remove from water; let drain before serving.

Lobster Weight

Cook Time

1 to 1¼ Ibs.

5–6 minutes

1 ¼ to 1 ½ lbs.

6–8 minutes

1 ½ to 1 ¾ lbs.

8–9 minutes

Steaming Method

  • Place steamer rack in large pot filled with about 2 inches of water. 
  • Bring water to a rolling boil and add lobster (head first). 
  • Cover pot and steam for about 18 min.
