Accessibility at Wegmans Pharmacy

Providing incredible service for all customers

We want to make sure customers of all abilities enjoy their pharmacy experience. Here are some specialized services provided at all Wegmans pharmacies:

Aira

We offer free use of the Aira smartphone app in our stores. Aira is an assistive technology that connects the visually impaired with a network of certified agents via an augmented reality dashboard. This allows agents to see what the visually impaired person sees in real time. Learn more about this service at www.aira.io or call (800) 835-1934.

Accessibility Hearing Loop signage

Hearing Loop

Hearing Loop technology is available at designated registers and counseling stations in our pharmacies for customers with hearing impairments who have compatible hearing aids or cochlear implants.

How do you use a hearing loop? A hearing loop (sometimes called an audio induction loop) is a special type of sound system for use by people with hearing aids. The hearing loop provides a magnetic, wireless signal that is picked up by the hearing aid when it is set to the “T” (Telecoil) setting.

Wegmans Pharmacy Accessibility | ScripTalk

ScripTalk

Select stores can provide ScripTalk labels, a special RFID label placed on the bottom of a prescription bottle. The customer places the bottle onto a small, battery-operated device called a ScripTalk Station, which reads the prescription information out loud, including the prescription number, drug name, dosage, instructions, warnings, and more. Customers also can access the talking prescription labels using the free Android or iOS app. The ScripTalk Station Reader is supplied at no cost as part of En-Vision America’s Pharmacy Freedom program. Available at our Amherst, Dewitt, Dick Rd, East Ave, and Jamestown stores in New York and our Hunt Valley store in Maryland.
