Charlotte, North Carolina – Wegmans’ newest store, located in Charlotte’s Ballantyne neighborhood, opened its doors on Wednesday, October 14, welcoming thousands of customers throughout the day. Wegmans is thankful for the overwhelming support and warm welcome from customers as the company celebrated its entrance into the Charlotte region.
“After years of preparation, it was incredibly meaningful to finally open our doors and feel such an enthusiastic welcome from the Charlotte community,” said Ballantyne Store Manager Patrick McGuinness. “Seeing customers experience Wegmans for the first time and sharing that excitement with them is something our team will never forget. We’re so grateful to our customers for welcoming us and incredibly proud of our employees, whose dedication and hard work brought this special day to life.”
The excitement started well before the doors opened, as hundreds of customers gathered outside in the early morning hours, with the line stretching around the corner of the store. That energy continued throughout the weekend as faithful Wegmaniacs and curious Charlotteans explored the new location, stocked up on Wegmans favorites, and enjoyed freshly prepared foods.
