Wegmans Natick Delivers A Truckload Filled With 17,594 Pounds of Food to United Way of Tri-Countys Pearl St. Cupboard and Caf

FRAMINGHAM, MA, Mar 22, 2018 – On Thursday, March 22 at 1 p.m., Wegmans Natick will deliver 17,594 pounds of non-perishable food to the United Way of Tri-Countys Pearl St. Cupboard and Caf. The donation includes 20 pallets of assorted vegetables and fruit, baking needs, snacks, breakfast items and juice.

Wegmans is a great community partner in helping us serve more than 3,000 clients per month at our food pantry. We are very grateful for this donation and Wegmans generosity, said Paul Mina, President & CEO of United Way of Tri-County.

When the Wegmans tractor-trailer arrives at the pantry, Store Manager Rich Boscia will be on hand along with a team of employees from the Natick store to help unload the truck and stock the pantry shelves.

Food pantries build healthier communities and its a privilege to begin serving the needs of our neighbors in Framingham before our new store opens, said Boscia. Were committed to making a difference in every community we serve, and one of our highest giving priorities is providing food for people at risk of hunger.

Every year, Wegmans donates more than 14.5 million pounds of food to local food banks, food pantries, and soup kitchens in all the communities it serves. Wegmans Natick opens at Natick Mall on Sunday, April 29 at 7 a.m.
