Wegmans Expands Curbside Grocery Pickup to All Rochester Stores

Rochester, N.Y., Feb 21, 2019 – Local Wegmans shoppers will soon have the option of ordering groceries online and picking them up curbside as Wegmans expands its curbside grocery pickup service to all Rochester-area stores by the end of February.

Our customers are busy, so when it comes to grocery shopping, they appreciate a range of options that allows them to get the task done with ease, when and how they want, said Erica Tickle, Wegmans e-commerce group manager. Now, its as simple as placing your order online and picking it up curbside at your convenience, all with no additional delivery fee or tipping.

Wegmans curbside pickup service, offered in partnership with Instacart, a North American leader in online groceries, is an easy and convenient way for customers to shop for their favorite products. Customers can visit instacart.wegmans.com or log on to the Instacart app to shop, select a pickup time, and pay for their order. Customers will receive an order confirmation with instructions and a phone number to call when they are within 10 minutes of the store. Upon arrival, customers simply pull into the designated curbside pickup lane and a Wegmans employee will load their groceries into the car.

Wegmans introduced curbside grocery pickup locally last March at its Pittsford store, and in September, at the Chili-Paul Wegmans. The expansion of the service to all remaining Rochester stores started last week and will be completed by February 28.

Curbside pickup is now available at:

  • Brockport, Irondequoit, Ridge-Culver, Latta Road, Lyell Ave, Mt. Read, Ridgemont, East Ave, Eastway, Fairport, Holt Road, Penfield, and Perinton

Curbside pickup coming February 28:

  • Calkins Road, Canandaigua, Geneseo, Geneva, Marketplace, and Newark

Theres a $10 minimum for curbside pickup. Once shopped, orders are held in a temperature-controlled staging area inside the store until customers arrive. Wegmans delivery, powered by Instacart, is available throughout the companys six-state footprint, and now starts at just $3.99 – or free for Instacart Express Members – on orders of $35 or more. For delivery and pickup, Wegmans adds a price increase to items ordered to cover the cost of Instacart shopping services.
