Wegmans is rolling out a new option when it comes to frozen pizzas, and we would love for you to give it a try. The Wegmans Amore Roman-style frozen pizza crust made from wheat and rice flour and fermented for 24 hours. This process creates a light, airy texture and crispy exterior, distinct in flavor and shape from traditional pizza.
The pizza crusts are produced in Italy, come to the U.S. to be topped, and then shipped to Wegmans stores in the northeast. The chain is the first in the U.S. to offer this style of frozen pizzas.
Customers can choose from four options - cup and char uncured pepperoni, sausage and caramelized onion, mushroom, or cheese - or buy a two-pack of crusts to create their own. Each one serves approximately two people.
The Amore product line also features pasta, sauces, salad dressings, salad kits, and frozen meatballs inspired by Wegmans’ Amore restaurant in Rochester, New York.
