Statement: Romaine Lettuce Advisory, updated 11/28/18

Rochester, NY, Nov 28, 2018 –

Updated information, 11/28/18:

The CDC and FDA have updated the romaine lettuce advisory as follows: All romaine lettuce harvested after 11/23/18, and grown outside of central and coastal California, is no longer part of the advisory.

The romaine lettuce on our shelves was harvested after 11/23 and is not from growing areas that are still under the advisory. As an added assurance, each package is marked with the date of harvest and name of the growing area.

Original statement, 11/20/18:

CDC and FDA have advised consumers not to eat romaine lettuce, and they are also asking all retailers not to sell romaine.

As of November 20, 2018, Wegmans is removing all romaine lettuce, and salad mixes that contain romaine, from Produce, Prepared Foods, and Restaurants.

This action is being taken as a result of the alert issued by the CDC and FDA.
