Wegmans’ people-first philosophy focuses on creating a sense of belonging for our employees, customers, and the communities we serve. We uphold the principles of diversity and acceptance, which are fundamental to our strength as a company and as a community partner. This commitment is reflected in our participation in various community-building events and celebrations throughout the year. Below are some of the events we will be involved in this June.

In New Jersey, team members from our Bridgewater store will again participate in the annual Pride Acceptance Night hosted by the Somerset Patriots baseball team. As an event sponsor, Wegmans employees are able to attend the game for free. Wegmans volunteers hand out bags and tumblers to the first 1,000 community members attending the game and participate in other events activities throughout the evening.
Bridgewater service manager Rosie Wohltman highlighted the sponsorship's role in fostering community connection, stating it enhances employees' sense of belonging and pride. "Many employees from the area value attending the game with their families," Rosie says. "They also take pride in working for a company that values everyone and builds community connections."
This is the store's second year sponsoring the event, which will be held on June 24, 2025.
Celebrating Small Town Pride

Each year the towns of Chapel Hill and Carrboro celebrate Pride Month with activities throughout the month of June. This year, the town of Carrboro will be partnering with El Centro Hispano to put on the Carrboro Orgullo Pride Celebration (formerly Carrboro Pride Dance Party) at Carrboro Town Commons from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, June 14, 2025.
Shannon Hinton, service desk team leader at Chapel Hill, says that employees who participated in events last year had a wonderful time. “They enjoyed the event so much that Wegmans decided to become a sponsor of the new Pride Celebration and resource fair this year, it was an easy ‘yes’,” she said.
“The Town of Carrboro is thrilled to host alongside El Centro Hispano, a spectacular event celebrating diversity and unity within the LGBTQ+ community,” said Carrboro Communication and Engagement Director Catherine Lazorko. “We invite participants from all walks of life to contribute to the colorful expressions of pride and resilience.”
The event will feature music, dancing, food trucks, and resource tables for the LBGTQ+ community.

WorldPride Celebration

Wegmans has collaborated with the Capital Pride Alliance to support Pride in Washington, D.C. since 2018. This year, the Alliance won a bid to host WorldPride in D.C. May 17-June 8. WorldPride brings together voices from around the world to support the LGBTQ+ community’s ongoing fight for equality, visibility, and justice.
Wegmans' efforts are focused on supporting the hundreds of volunteers required to ensure the event's success. During the two-day festival, Wegmans will host a volunteer refreshment area, providing meals, snacks, and drinks for the volunteers working at the event over the course of the two days.
This is the 50th year of Pride in D.C. Here is a full list of events spanning the entire celebration. The theme this year is The Fabric of Freedom.
