To help meet the growing demand for fresh produce that’s organic and sustainably grown, we operate our Organic Farm & Orchard to develop and share best practices with our regional partner-growers. We’re working to grow the best-tasting varieties and extend the northeastern growing seasons.

Organic Produce, Eden, NY
The Zittel family has worked with Wegmans for more than 50 years and supplies our stores with organic squash, peppers & mini cucumbers.
Apples from Wolcott, NY
The 5th and 6th generations of the Fowler family tend to their Wolcott, NY, heritage acres, first planted in 1858. Since 1983, they’ve supplied us with many delicious apple varieties, including an exclusive organic Honeycrisp.
Organic Produce, Cedarville, NJ
David Sheppard is an 11th-generation farmer; he and his daughter run their 1888 farm. Supplying a variety of organic produce, like salad greens and goldbar squash, to Wegmans since 2014.
Organic Greens, Brockport, NY
Kreher Family Farm in upstate NY has supplied more than a billion eggs to Wegmans, but in 2014, we asked them to try something very different—growing organic baby greens for us. They jumped at the chance. “Everything was so new to us,” says Mike Kreher, 4th-generation egg farmer. “We worked with the Wegmans Organic Farm and Cornell University to see what grows well in our area.”

Doug Mason’s farm has been in operation since 1811. Supplying organic sweet corn, squash, peppers, tomatoes, and eggplant for Wegmans since 2014.

Ryan and Sarah’s Red Fire Farm was founded in 2001. Supplying our Massachusetts stores with organic veggies like leafy greens, dandelion greens, beets, tomatoes, cucumbers, and green squash.

The Brownback family has called their farm home since 1978. They farm 255 acres that have been certified organic since 1994. Supplying a variety of organic produce, like tomatoes and salad greens, to Wegmans since 2003.

Matt Slagle and Ed Primrose partner to run the Conquest Farm just outside of Cato, NY in Cayuga County—they grow the forage and nearly all the corn for their herd.

Brothers William and John Hazel rely on longtime manager Randy Bardell to run their 2nd-generation family farm. The 1950 farm is only 2 miles from Manassas, and all the corn, hay, and pasturage for the cattle is harvested from their own carefully conserved 5,000 acres.

Todd Beck, a 4th-generation cattleman, owns and operates Marble Valley Farms with his father H.R. and son Garrett. The early 1900s farm is nestled in the Allegheny Mountains along the Shenandoah Valley; the Beck family raises its own corn and hay as year round feed for their herd. “We get to work where we live and love what we do,” says Todd.

The McMillen family has been working their heritage cattle farm since 1785. This 8th-generation cattle ranch is nestled in the mountains of Pennsylvania’s Perry County. Clee and his daughter Chloe are the 7th and 8th generation to care for the land and the animals.

David Salem’s family has owned the Salem Cross Farm in West Brookfield, Massachusetts since the late 1930s. Dave and his 6 siblings stay busy on their family farm.
Pork, Millerville, PA
Lowell Sensenig, in Mohnton, PA is a 14th-generation farmer who takes his environmental and animal welfare responsibilities seriously. His American Humane Association Certified pigs are fed all-vegetarian grain that’s provided by a local family-owned and -operated feed mill.
