We think so. Boats fishing for shrimp could be out as long as five days before bringing in the catch. Our farmed shrimp are out of the water, cleaned, and flash frozen within six hours. And no preservatives, like sulfites or sodium tripolyphosphate, are ever added or used in processing. You get clean, fresh flavor. Think beyond cocktail sauce! How to Thaw: Remove desired amount of shrimp from bag and place in colander. Place colander inside bowl, cover and refrigerate 8-10 hours or until thawed. Or remove desired amount of shrimp from bag and place in colander, place colander inside bowl. Cover shrimp with cold water, allow to thaw 20-30 minutes, changing water several times. How to Store Thawed Shrimp: Place in a resealable plastic bag, cover with ice and refrigerate until ready to use. Use within 24 hours of thawing. Do not refreeze. How to Cook: Cooking times may vary depending on your equipment. Pan searing - 1. Heat 1-1/2 tsp olive oil in large skillet on medium-high. 2. Pat thawed shrimp dry on clean cloth or paper towel. Season with salt and pepper. 3. Add shrimp to skillet in single layer. Do not crowd. 4. Cook about 1-3 minutes; turn shrimp over. Reduce heat to medium cook 1-3 minutes more or until internal temperature reaches 140 degrees F. Check by inserting thermometer halfway into thickest part of shrimp, remove from pan. Add ingredients of your choice to pan such as garlic, parsley, lemon and butter to finish, heat 1-2 minutes, remove from pan and serve over shrimp. Grilling: 1. Preheat grill to medium. 2. Thread 4 thawed shrimp on each skewer (if using bamboo skewers, soak 30 minutes in water before using to prevent burning), brush with light coating of olive oil, salt and pepper to taste. 3. Place shrimp on lightly oiled grill; grill 1-3 minutes on one side, turn and grill 1-3 minutes more or until internal temperature reaches 140 degrees F. Check by inserting thermometer halfway into thickest part of shrimp. Broiling: 1. Place upper rack of oven one level above center or about 6 inches in the burner. Preheat oven to Broil. 2. Toss shrimp with small amount of olive oil, salt and pepper to taste. Arrange in single layer on sheet pan, place in oven, and broil 1-3 minutes per side or until internal temperature reaches 140 degrees F. Check by inserting thermometer halfway into thickest part of shrimp. Note: Watch shrimp carefully so they don't burn.
