Adzuki Beans, Green Split Peas, Navy Beans, Black Beans, Yellow Split Peas, Kidney Beans. Veggie Packet: Dehydrated Carrots, Red and Green Bell Peppers, Celery. Spice Packet: Salt, Parsley, Onion Powder, Garlic Powder, Cayenne, Cumin, Oregano.
You'll Need this Package and: 7 C water (for a more intense taste use vegetable broth or low salt chicken broth); 1 clove garlic, minced; 1 - 28 oz can diced tomatoes; salt & pepper to taste; spice/vegetable packets (included). Optional Ingredients: Add 1 bay leaf, 1 cup each chopped and sauteed onion, celery and green pepper. For a more authentic cajun taste add 8 or more ounces of spicy andouille sausage. Rinse and drain beans. Assemble all ingredients except tomatoes in a 4-quart container with enough water to cover beans. Bring to a boil, cover then simmer gently 3-1/2 to 4-1/2 hours until beans are tender. Add tomatoes during last hour of cooking. Add water as needed so that beans are well covered.
