Gefilte Fish 3 ways! (Take only what you intend to cook). Boil: Our gefilte fish is tasty enough to be boiled alone. To add more flavor, place carrots, onions, water, salt, and pepper in a 4-quart soup pot, cover, and bring to a boil. Separate each slice before adding to the pot. Once water has reached a full boil, add the slices and cook for 15 minutes. Fry: These slices are great in the frying pan. Slices need to be thawed for not more than 30 minutes prior to cooking. Fill a pan with sufficient oil for frying, about 1/4-inch deep. Fry for 3-5 minutes on each side. Slices should be crisp and golden brown. If fish is not cooked through, continue cooking on lower heat. Bake: Brush slices with olive oil. Season to taste with salt, pepper and paprika. Add enough water to cover the bottom of the pan. Add slices, cover and bake at 375 F for 40 minutes.
