Traditional Preparation Instructions for Best Results: 1. Measure 250 ml (1 cup) of rice. 2. Clean the rice in water and then drain. 3. Add salt, with butter or margarine or olive oil. 4. Bring to boil, stirring once or twice. 5. Cover, reduce heat to low. Simmer for 10-12 minutes or until most water is absorbed. 6. Do not remove lid while cooking. 7. Remove from heat, let stand covered about 5 minutes. 8. Fluff with a fork and serve. The amount of water required to cook basmati rice may vary depending on the age of the rice and on its time of soaking. For best results, always soak rice in water. For 30 minutes before cooking. Store in cool, dry and hygienic place.
