To Start: cut the bag with a pair of scissors and pour contents into sieve to pick over and rinse thoroughly. Swedish Style Yellow Pea Soup: Ingredients: 1 bag Lars' Own Yellow Peas, 1 lb pork ribs [optional], 1 yellow onion, finely chopped, 3 tsp salt, 1 tsp marjoram or thyme. Directions: Rinse peas and soak overnight in 5 cups of water. Discard water. Pour 2 quarts of water over peas. Cook together with pork, onions, salt and marjoram on low heat for about 1-1/2 hours or until shells of peas split. Serving: Serve with a little Lars' Own Swedish Style Mustard. Variations: Cook pork separately and add or serve on the side.
