Range Top: What You Need: 2 tbsp margarine or butter; 1-1/3 cups water; 2/3 cup milk. 1. In medium saucepan, bring water, milk and margarine or butter to a boil. Then slowly stir in pasta and special seasonings. Separate pasta with a fork, if needed. Return to boil. 2. Reduce heat to medium. Boil uncovered, 4-5 min or until pasta is just tender, stirring frequently. 3. Sauce will be thin. Let stand 3-5 min to thicken. 2-1/2 cups prepared. Microwave: In 2-quart microwaveable bowl, combine 1-1/3 cups water, 2/3 cup milk and 2 tablespoons of margarine or butter. Microwave uncovered at high 4-5 minutes or until boiling. Slowly stir in pasta and special seasonings. Microwave at high 1 minute. Stir. Microwave at high 3-4 minutes. Sauce will be thin. Let stand 5 minutes before serving. Microwave ovens vary; adjust times as needed. Less Fat: Follow Range Top or Microwave directions, except substitute margarine with 1 teaspoon olive oil and use 3/4 cup skim milk. Fat reduced to 6 g from 13 g per serving with saturated fat reduced to 2 g from 4 g and trans fat reduced to 0 g from 2 g per serving. 50 calories from fat per serving.
