Tips: 1. Use as a thickening agent for gravies, sauces, stews and for coating stir-fry meats. One tablespoon corn starch equals about 2 tablespoons of flour. 2. To prevent clumping when thickening hot liquids, mix corn starch with cold water until smooth. and then stir into hot liquid. Stir continuously until liquid comes to a boil. Continue to cook and stir about one more minute. 3. When compared with flour, corn starch results in smoother gravies and sauces as it mixes more easily with water.
