Makes 15 dozen cookies. Homemade cookies in 20 minutes. Exchanges: 1/2 Starch, 1 other carbohydrate, 1 1/2 fat. Carbohydrate Choices: 1 1/2.

Ingredients

Sugar, Enriched Flour Bleached (Wheat Flour, Malted Barley Flour, Niacin, Iron, Thiamin Mononitrate, Riboflavin, Folic Acid), Partially Hydrogenated Soybean and/or Cottonseed Oil, Baking Soda, Corn Starch, Salt, Vanillin, Soy Flour, Egg, Nonfat Milk.

Directions

Prep Time: 7 Minutes. Bake Time: 9 Minutes. You Will Need for Pouch: For Drop Cookies: 1/2 Cup butter, margarine or spread, melted. If using spread, use on that has more than 65% oil.), 1 egg. For Cutout Cookies: 1/3 Cup butter, margarine or spread, melted (If using spread, use one that has more than 65% oil), 1 egg, 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour. For great homemade cookies, the Betty Crocker Kitchens recommended using real butter. 1. Heat: Oven to 375 degree F. To Make Drop Cookies: Stir: Cookie mix, 1/2 cup melted butter and egg in medium bowl until soft dough forms. Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet. 2: Or, To Make Cutout Cookies: Stir: Cookie mix, 1/3 cup melted butter, egg and flour in medium bowl until soft dough forms. Roll dough on lightly floured surface until 1/4 inch thick. Cut with 2-inch cookie cutter and place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. 3. Bake: 7 to 9 minutes on shiny metal sheet, or 6 to 8 minutes on dark or nonstick sheet, until edges are light golden brown. Cool 1 minute before removing from sheet. Cool completely; store in airtight container. Betty's Tips: For About 2 Dozen Larger Drop Cookies: Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 11 to 14 minutes. Multiple-Pouch Sugar Cookies: Make dough as directed below. Bake as directed in step 3. For 2 Pouches Cookie Mix: Drop Cookies: Use 1 cup (or 2 sticks) butter, margarine or spread, melted. (If using spread, use one that has more than 65% oil) and 2 eggs. Cutout Cookies: Use 2/3 cup butter, margarine or spread, melted. (If using spread, use one that has more than 65% oil), 2 eggs and 1/4 cup all-purpose flour. For 5 Pouches Cookie Mix: Drop Cookies: Use 2 1/2 cups (or 5 sticks) butter, margarine or spread, melted. (If using spread, use one that has more than 65% oil), and 5 eggs. Cutout Cookies: Use 1 1/3 cups butter, margarine or spread, melted (If using spread, use on that has more than 65% oil), 5 eggs and 2/3 cup all-purpose flour. High Altitude (3500-6500 ft): For Cutout Cookies, no change. For Drop Cookies with 1 pouch mix, use 1/3 cup butter, margarine or spread, melted (If using spread, use one that has more than 65% oil), and 1 egg. For Drop Cookies with 2 pouches mix, use 2/3 cup butter, margarine or spread, melted (If using spread, use one that has more than 65% oil), and 2 eggs; with 5 pouches mix, use 1 2/3 cups butter, margarine or spread, melted (If using spread, use one that has more than 65% oil), and 5 eggs. Bake cookies on shiny metal, dark or nonstick cookie sheet 7-9 min. Bake larger drop cookies (see Betty's Tips) 10-13 min.
