A Spoonful About Moroccan Cuisine: Moroccan cuisine has an amazing complexity of flavors and aromas influenced by North African, Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cooking. Many perfected by cooks in royal kitchens. These dishes use a variety of spices from around the world. Tagine is one of the most popular Moroccan dishes. Like casserole, it derives its name from the vessel it is cooked in, a traditional conical earthenware pot. It is a savory stew-like dish, slightly sweet and tangy, made with ras el hanout, top of the shop in Arabic - a blend of finest North African spices, which gives it a unique aroma and flavor.

Directions

Keep frozen. Cook thoroughly. Cooking Instructions: Ready in 15 minutes. Serves 2. For food safety and quality, follow these cooking instructions. 1. Remove basmati rice pouch. 2. Microwave rice pouch for 3 minutes. The pouch should balloon during the last 30-40 seconds (1000 W microwave. Adjust time to watts. Heat rice to 165 degrees F). Let pouch sit for 1 minute and then open with scissors. Please handle carefully as contents will be hot. 3. While rice is heating, pour remaining ingredients from the package into a 12-inch non-stick skillet. Cover and cook over high heat until the sauce is liquefied about 5 minutes. Stir well and continue cooking covered, stirring occasionally until sauce starts to bubble (about 3 more minutes). Reduce heat to simmer and cook for an additional 5 minutes or until vegetables feel tender. Product should be cooked to 165 degrees F. 4. Pour Moroccan Chickpea Tagine over basmati rice and enjoy! Keep frozen until ready to use. Do not refreeze. Refrigerate or discard leftovers.
