Keep Frozen. Cooking Directions: At Shady Brook Farms, we take pride in producing the finest turkey for you and your family and are honored to be part of your meal. Just follow these steps for a juicy, flavorful turkey breast everyone's going to remember. Thawing (Defrosting): Do not open bag until turkey breast is defrosted. Keep turkey breast cold. Do not thaw at room temperature. Place on tray in refrigerator for 1-3 days. This turkey breast is brined for your convenience. For additional brining, reduce the salt in your recipe by half. Preparation: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Remove refrigerated turkey breast from bag. Roasting: Place turkey breast, breast-side up, on a roasting rack inside a shallow roasting pan. Brush turkey breast with vegetable oil, and season as desired. Add one cup of water to the bottom of the roasting pan. This helps keep the turkey breast moist while still allowing browning. Roast at 350 degrees F according to the chart below. If breast is golden-brown before fully cooked, cover with a loose tent of aluminum foil to prevent over-browning. Cut a hole in the foil to view the pop-up timers. Turkey breast is done when the pop-up timer has popped and a meat thermometer, not touching any bone, registers at least 165 degrees F. Remove from oven and allow the cooked breast to stand for 20 to 30 minutes. This allows the juices to settle and makes carving easier. Slow Cooker: Place turkey breast, skin side up, in crockpot. The skin of the breast can also be brushed with cooking oil to promote browning and enhance flavor. 1/2 cup of white wine or broth can be used to add moisture and prevent the meat from sticking to the crockpot's surface. Cook according to the table below. Turkey breast is done when a meat thermometer, not touching any bone, registers as least 165 degrees F in the deepest part of the breast. Estimated Roasting Time: 3-5 lbs.: 1 to 2-1/4 hours (350 degrees F), 3-4 minutes in a slow cooker on high, 5-6 hours in a slow cooker on low. 5-7 lbs.: 2-1/4 to 3 hours (350 degrees F), 4-5 minutes in a slow cooker on high, 6-7 hours in a slow cooker on low. 7-9 lbs.: 3 to 3-1/2 hours (350 degrees F), 5-6 minutes in a slow cooker on high, 7-8 hours in a slow cooker on low. Other Cooking Methods & Additional Tips: We recommend conventional oven roasting, but your Frozen Shady Brook Farms Turkey Breast is also delicious when grilled. Microwaving is not recommended.
