Directions

Keep frozen. Stove Top Skillet Cook: Keep frozen. Do not overcook. Appliance temperatures may vary. Please consider the performance of your appliance when following these directions. Cook to a temperature of at least 165 degrees F. Caution: Ice crystals on frozen foods can cause spattering when added to hot oil. Add product carefully. Tips for Frying with Oil: Always preheat oil uncovered. If oil spatters, cover immediately and reduce heat. When spattering stops, remove cover and return to cooking temperature. Be careful not to spatter oil onto hot burner of range. Heat 2 tbsp cooking oil in a non stick 12 inch skillet over medium-high heat. Carefully add 1/2 bag (5-1/4 cups) frozen hash browns to form an even layer. Cook 5 to 7 minutes. Drizzle with another 1 tbsp cooking oil and sprinkle with 1/4 tsp salt (optional). Carefully turn hash browns. Cook another 4 to 6 minutes. Cook to a golden color. Do not stir. Season to taste. Electric Skillet Cook. Half Bag: 1. Heat 3 tbsp cooking oil in a non-stick 16 inch x 12 inch electric skillet to 350 degrees F. Check temperature. 2. Carefully add half a bag (5-1/4 cups) frozen hash browns to form an even layer. 3. Cook 6 to 7 minutes. Drizzle with 1 tbsp oil and sprinkle with 1/4 tsp salt (optional). Carefully turn hash browns. 4. After turning, continue cooking for another 6 to 7 minutes. Cook to a golden color. Do not stir. 5. Season to taste. Full Bag: 1. Heat 1/4 cup cooking oil in a non-stick 16 inch x 12 inch electric skillet to 350 degrees F. Check temperature. 2. Carefully add a full bag (10-1/2 cups) frozen hash browns to form an even layer. 3. Cook 7 to 11 minutes. Drizzle with 2 tbsp oil and sprinkle with 1/2 tsp salt (optional). Carefully turn hash browns. 4. After turning, continue cooking for another 7 to 11 minutes. Cook to a golden color. Do not stir. 5. Season to taste.
