Wegmans Food Markets begins hiring full-time positions today for its Owings Mills store in Baltimore County, set to open in fall 2016. Available full-time openings range from customer service and entry-level management to culinary positions, such as line cooks. The new store will employ approximately 475 people, 425 of whom will be hired locally. Of these, there are 150 full-time positions to be filled. Hiring for part-time positions will begin at a later date.
Full-time job applicants are invited to apply online at www.wegmans.com or call 1-877-WEGMANS (934-6267) for more information. Applications will not be not accepted at the store or construction site, nor will interviews be conducted there. The company plans to begin scheduling interviews at its Owings Mills mployment office later this month.
“Wegmans is celebrating 100 years in business, and we attribute that longevity to putting our employees first,” said Matt LePore, Owings Mills store manager and 18-year veteran with the company. “These jobs offer competitive pay and benefits, flexible scheduling, and most importantly, a great place to work.”
The Owings Mills Wegmans, a 109,000 square-foot supermarket, is part of Foundry Row, a retail and office complex located at the intersection of Reisterstown (Route 140) and Painters Mill Roads. The store will include The Burger Bar by Wegmans, a family-friendly, casual restaurant that serves delicious burgers, fresh salads, flavorful sandwiches, specialty milkshakes, soups, and sides.
“We promote from within and this is the ideal time to apply and grow a career with us. Soon after joining our team, new employees begin in-depth training to gain product knowledge and customer service skills that are unrivaled in our industry.”
Wegmans operates seven stores in Maryland. The company is also planning to open new stores in Midlothian, Short Pump, and Charlottesville, Va. in 2016.
