Wegmans Food Markets today announced the leadership team spearheading the grand opening and management of its Concordville store in Glen Mills, PA, located at Brandywine Mills shopping center on Route 202, just south of Route 1. The team consists of the store manager, executive chef, pharmacy manager, and area managers who each supervise various departments within the store. Together, they have more than 60 years of combined experience at Wegmans.
“Each member of this group was promoted from within, and they share an incredible background of our company values, customer service, and product knowledge to help develop our newest employees,” said Lynn Franklin, human resources manager of the company’s Pennsylvania stores. “We’re still hiring and training for select part-time culinary and restaurant positions in Concordville, and those interested in applying can visit www.wegmans.com/careers for more information.”

Store Manager Todd Strassner, Jr.
Todd Strassner Jr. can’t remember a time when Wegmans wasn’t a big part of his family life. Spanning three generations, many in his family have worked for the company and embraced opportunities to further their educations and careers with Wegmans. While in high school, Wegmans was Strassner’s first part-time job. He began as a cashier and parking lot attendant before going to college with tuition assistance from the Wegmans Employee Scholarship Program. While in college, he became a Wegmans management intern, graduating in 2005 and joining the company full time as a service team leader. Over the next several years, Strassner’s career growth continued as he became a department manager, and then an area manager at Wegmans stores in the Lehigh Valley. Strassner became a store manager in 2011 at Wegmans in State College, a post he held until he was named manager for Concordville. Strassner’s greatest goal now is to help develop his team of 525 employees so they, too, can learn and grow in their careers. Strassner lives in West Bradford.
Executive Chef Daniel DeNicola
Cooking is at the heart of Daniel DeNicola’s life, from when he was growing up in rural Chester County, PA, to the present. He now leads a team of 150 people at Wegmans who prepare the restaurant-quality foods made fresh each day, like pizza, sandwiches, soups, salads, and seasonal favorite recipes like homestyle barbeque. Showing others how to get the best from superb ingredients is the foundation of a career he loves. DeNicola was hired by the company in 2008 as a sous chef. He welcomed opportunities for additional training in culinary skills, leadership, and management, and was also on hand to help with hiring, training and setting up the kitchens when Wegmans opened stores in Malvern and King of Prussia. In 2013, he was promoted to executive chef in Downingtown. Now in Concordville, the Exton resident is overseeing hiring and training for the culinary employees in prepared foods and The Pub restaurant.
Pharmacy Manager Rakesh Patel
Rakesh Patel, PharmD, graduated from the University of Connecticut in 2010. He joined Wegmans in 2012 as a staff pharmacist, and is now taking on the role of pharmacy manager. Patel will manage all aspects of the Concordville pharmacy and its staff, and will help customers live healthier, better lives. Pharmacy services include immunizations, auto-refill of prescriptions, free home shipping, pet medications, and competitively low prices on select generic prescriptions. Patel resides in Chesterbrook.
Perishable Area Manager Amy Miller
Amy Miller, an Atglen resident, began working at Wegmans in 2002 and has experience in a variety of positions, including deli customer service, sub shop team leader, café manager, front end manager, and service area manager. As perishable area manager in Concordville, she will oversee product quality, sales, and employee development for several departments, including produce, bakery, seafood, meat, cheese, and the deli. Miller will ensure Wegmans’ high standards for fresh ingredients are met and employees are prepared to share a high level of food knowledge and with Wegmans customers.
Merchandising Area Manager Jamie Bray
Jamie Bray has been with Wegmans since 2001, previously serving as service team leader, meat department manager, employee representative, and grocery manager. In his new role, he supervises merchandising and sales for a variety of departments, such as grocery, dairy, frozen food, and Nature’s Marketplace. Bray, who resides in Emmaus, will work collaboratively across the store to ensure products are well merchandised and displayed to make an outstanding shopping experience for customers.
Service Area Manager Dan Carnevale
Dan Carnevale, a resident of Conshohocken, has been a Wegmans employee since 2006 and previously worked in positions ranging from produce customer service to management intern, service team leader, and front end manager. As a new service area manager, he will lead the store’s service departments, which include the front end, customer service desk, helping hands (parking lot attendants), and the accounting office. Carnevale will ensure incredible customer service, which is a point of distinction at Wegmans. He will also supervise local community giving, carrying out Wegmans’ commitment to make a difference in every community it serves.
Wegmans Concordville is a 111,000 square-foot supermarket that includes a Market Café with indoor and outdoor seating for more than 250, as well as The Pub, Wegmans’ casual family restaurant with fresh selections straight from the market.
