Magnificent Mushroom Puffs




  1. Dust clean work surface and rolling pin with flour. Roll pastry to 11 x 13 rectangle; place on baking sheet and refrigerate at least 30 min.
  2. Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Place chilled pastry on floured surface. Brush entire surface with egg. Cut into 5 long strips and then cut each strip into 6 squares, creating 30 pieces.
  3. Lightly coat mini-muffin pan with nonstick spray. Press each pastry, egg wash-side up,  into a muffin cup.
  4. Mix mushrooms with truffle spread. Spoon 2 tsp filling in each cup. Bake about 15 min until golden brown. Serve warm. 
Chef Tips
  • A pizza slicer works great for cutting the pastry sheet.
  • For added richness, top each puff with a small piece of brie before baking.
  • For a milder truffle flavor, use less (2 - 3 Tbsp) truffle spread.
