Basil Pesto



  1. Place basil and garlic in food processor or blender; process about 15 seconds, until finely chopped.
  2. Add oil in a steady stream to make loose paste (the whole amount may not be necessary), about 30 seconds. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
Chef Tips
If basil leaves are rinsed, dry completely before preparing pesto.
Add 1/4 cup chopped walnuts or pine nuts after step #2 and process about 15 seconds. If making Pasta with Pesto, toss hot cooked pasta with pesto and grated Parmesan cheese.
