Suggested Toppings


  1. Add pork, broth, bay leaves, garlic, chiles, onion, oregano, and salt to stockpot. Bring to low boil. Cover; cook until tender, about 2 hours. Remove pork from cooking liquid; set aside. 
  2. Remove onion and chiles from cooking liquid; puree in blender about 1 min until smooth. Add puree and hominy to stockpot with cooking liquid. Bring to simmer; cook 30 min.
  3. Break pork into bite-size pieces while hominy simmers. Discard excess fat and any bone. Add pork to stockpot; cook 5 min. Season with salt and pepper. Ladle into bowls; garnish with your choice of toppings.
