  1. Make simple syrup: Add water and sugar to small saucepan on LOW. Cook, stirring, until sugar is dissolved; chill. Set aside 1/2 Tbsp syrup; refrigerate remaining syrup for other drinks.
     
  2. Add coarse salt to small, shallow bowl. Moisten margarita glass rim with lime wedge; coat with salt.
     
  3. Add Grand Marnier, tequila, 1/2 Tbsp simple syrup, and lime juice to ice-filled cocktail shaker. Shake vigorously until chilled; pour with ice into salt-rimmed glass. Garnish with lime wedge.
Chef Tips
  • If you prefer no ice, strain through shaker into cocktail glass.
  • Remaining simple syrup will keep for several weeks in the fridge.
