Reheating & Carving Ham

What makes our Celebration Ham worth celebrating

This impressive ham is supplied to us by family farms in Pennsylvania, crafted from pork that’s raised without antibiotics or added hormones.* These hams are natural hardwood smoked, brined, and spice-cured for a depth of flavor that has to be tasted to be believed. But the real secret of this ham’s one-of-a-kind taste and tenderness is that it’s prepared with the skin on and a layer of fat intact, so it’s juicier than any ham we’ve ever found. In fact, we think it’s the best ham you’ll ever taste! (Tip: The meaty bone makes a great ham soup.)

*Federal regulations prohibit the use of hormones or growth stimulants in pork.

Carving Instructions

Mise en Place.

Set up carving station in kitchen (not at the table) to keep the mess contained.
Place
a moistened paper towel under a sturdy carving board to keep it from sliding.
Make sure
your knife is long enough to slice across full width of meat; sharpen before carving.
Have
a long-pronged fork to steady meat as you carve and a clean platter to receive slices.

circle-two.png

Rest. Transfer ham to clean cutting board.

< 2 lbs - rest 5-10 minutes
2-5 lbs
- rest 15-20 minutes

- rest 20-30 minutes

Separate Meat. Locate bone; cut ham away from bone into pieces as large as possible.

Slice & Serve. Lay large pieces flat on cutting board; steady with fork. Cut slices as thin as you like, slicing straight down. Ham grain is not uniform, so you won't be able to cut cross-grain.
