Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Heat oil in braising pan on MED-HIGH. Add celery and onions; cook, stirring, 5 min. Add butter and stock; stir to combine. Bring to a simmer; remove from heat.
     
  2. Add croutons and apple to pan; stir gently to combine. Season with salt and pepper. 
     
  3. Bake, 30 min, until stuffing is browned and cooked through. 
Chef Tips
 
Add 1 Tbsp Herbes de Provence, dried or fresh sage, or poultry seasoning before baking.
 
It's easy to customize this basic moist stuffing by adding cooked oysters, sausage, or chestnuts before you bake it.  If adding meat or seafood, insert a digital thermometer halfway into the stuffing to ensure internal temp reaches 165 degrees.
 
To prep in slow cooker: Use 3 cups Food You Feel Good About Chicken Culinary Stock instead of the entire carton. After step 1 above, combine croutons and apple in cooker. Top with vegetable mixture, stir; season with salt and pepper. Cook on HIGH 2 1/2 - 3 hours.
