  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Add freekeh and water to saucepan; bring to boil on HIGH. Cover; reduce heat to MED-LOW. Cook 20 min while continuing with recipe.
     
  2. Toss onions and 1 Tbsp basting oil in large bowl; season with salt and pepper. Arrange in single layer on parchment paper-lined baking sheet. Toss broccoli and remaining basting oil in large bowl; season with salt and pepper. Arrange in single layer on separate parchment paper-lined baking sheet.
     
  3. Roast onions and broccoli, about 10 min, until broccoli is browned and tender. Remove broccoli; set aside. Continue roasting onions, about 10 min, until browned and tender.
     
  4. Combine broccoli, onions, freekeh, hazelnuts, lemon zest and juice in large bowl; season with salt and pepper. Toss to combine.
Chef Tips
Lightly crush toasted hazelnuts by pressing down on each with thumb.
