  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Halve chicken breasts; dust chicken with flour.
     
  2. Heat oil in large braising pan on MED. Add chicken; brown on all sides, 8-10 min. Remove from pan. Discard all but 1 Tbsp pan drippings.
     
  3. Add garlic, mushrooms, and sliced peppers and onions; cook, stirring occasionally, 3-4 min, until veggies have softened slightly. Add wine; cook 1-2 min. Stir in Italian seasoning and tomato sauce. Season with salt and pepper.
     
  4. Return chicken to pan; heat to simmer. Cover; place on center rack of oven. Braise 1 hour 15 min.

 

 
Chef Tips
Make in a 6-8 qt Slow Cooker: Follow steps 1-3 above, transferring chicken and then sauce mixture to slow cooker. Cook 3-4 hours on HIGH or 6-7 hours on LOW. Carefully remove cover to avoid steam; season with salt and pepper.
