  1. Day before: Mix BBQ seasoning, brown sugar, salt, and basting oil in large bowl to make marinade. Divide mixture in half; cover and set aside half in refrigerator. Coat brisket well with remaining half. Cover brisket and chill overnight. 
     
  2. Day serving: Remove brisket from fridge. Preheat oven to 275 degrees. Preheat grill on HIGH 10 min. Coat cleaned grill grate lightly with vegetable oil.
     
  3. Reduce grill heat to MED-HIGH; sear brisket on grill, 5 min per side. Do not cook through.
     
  4. Transfer brisket to baking sheet. Spread reserved marinade over brisket; bake 2 - 2 1/2 hours. Remove from oven; let rest 10-15 min. Using a long knife, slice brisket very thinly, cutting against the grain.
     
  5. Add BBQ sauce and beer to small sauce pan. Bring to a simmer on MED-LOW heat; simmer for 4-5 min. Serve with brisket.
