Large braising pan

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Heat oil in braising pan on MED-HIGH until oil faintly smokes. Brown sausage 4-5 min; set aside.
     
  2. Layer green cabbage and onions in braising pan.
     
  3. Combine raisins, tomatoes, tomato paste, red pepper flakes, red wine vinegar, and sugar in medium-sized bowl. Pour over cabbage and onions; top with sausage. Cover.
     
  4. Braise on center rack of oven 2 - 2 1/2 hours.
        
  5. Portion onto serving plates; garnish with pine nuts.
