Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Dust ribs with pan-searing flour; pat off excess. Season with salt and pepper. Heat oil in pan on MED-HIGH until oil faintly smokes.
     
  2. Add ribs, turning to brown all sides, about 2 min per side. Set aside. 
     
  3. Add apples and onions to braising pan; reduce heat to MED. Season with salt. Add caraway seeds and bay leaves. Cook, stirring, 2-3 min, until soft. Add sauerkraut and beer; bring to simmer 2-3 min. 
      
  4. Add seared ribs, kielbasa, and ham to braising pan; braise, covered, on center rack of oven 2 hours. Transfer to serving platter; remove bay leaves and kielbasa casing before serving.
