  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Combine flour, flaxseed and baking soda in a small bowl. Set aside.
     
  2. Beat almond paste in large mixing bowl, gradually adding water until well-blended and smooth. Add butter and dark brown sugar; mix until creamy. Add egg and vanilla; mix until combined. Gradually beat in flour mixture until nearly combined. Add dried cherries and almonds; stir until evenly distributed.
     
  3. Drop rounded Tbsp of dough onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake 10-12 min until done; centers will be soft and edges very light brown.
     
  4. Let cookies rest 1-2 min on baking sheet before transferring to cooling rack.
Chef Tips
Toast almonds on baking sheet in preheated 375 degree oven 4-5 min until lightly browned.
