Ingredients

Baking sheet (17 1/4 x 11 1/2 x 1-inch), foil, sauce pan

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350. Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil, overlapping pieces to fold over rim. Arrange matzo in single layer; trim as needed to fill any gaps. Push down lightly to flatten. Fold foil up to meet edges of matzo.
     
  2. Add butter, brown sugar, and 3/4 tsp salt to saucepan on MED. Stir with rubber spatula about 5 min, until melted and smooth and brought to a boil. Boil 3 min, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat; let stand 1 min. Add vanilla; stir to combine.
     
  3. Pour butter mixture over matzos; spread evenly. Bake 10-12 min until mixture appears bubbly. Remove from oven; immediately sprinkle chocolate chips evenly on hot mixture. Let sit 5 min.
      
  4. Spread softened chocolate chips evenly over matzo with rubber spatula. Sprinkle with remaining salt and nuts while chocolate is still warm. Lightly press nuts into chocolate. Refrigerate 20-25 min. Cut or break into pieces.
