Shrub Mix

You'll Need

Martini glass, fine strainer, cocktail shaker or pint glass (for shaking)

Directions

  1. Make shrub mix: Combine apples, squash, cider, and water into large saucepan. Bring to boil on HIGH.  Reduce heat to MED-LOW; simmer about 20 min, until squash is fork-tender. Strain out solids and set aside; reserve liquids. Puree solids in blender while adding 1 cup of strained liquid and 1/4 cup of honey. Puree until mixture is smooth. Chill in fridge 4 hours or overnight. (Makes enough for about 22 drinks.)
     
  2. For each drink: Combine 2 oz shrub mix, alcohol, heavy cream, and a pinch of cinnamon in cocktail shaker. Add ice. Shake vigorously 20 seconds; pour into martini glass. Garnish with cinnamon stick and cinnamon sprinkle.
