Why be physically active?

Being active helps you feel better and stay healthy. Yet, many people wonder "what does it mean to be physically active and how much activity do I need?" To help answer these questions, the federal government released their Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans in the fall of 2008. They describe the major research findings on the benefits of physical activity and the types and amounts of activity needed to promote health. Here are just a few of the health benefits that may be gained from being physically active.
