We had a great response and would like to thank all of you who Rocked with us by sharing your passion around the guac!

With over 500 entries this is what Rockin’ the Guac looks like!

Rock the Guac Cloud

We are pleased to announce our three winners:

Week 1

I love to make it spicy and smokey. I experiment all the time, but I really like adding cumin and smoked paprika to my guac along with cayenne, dried peppers or hot sauce. Also, lots of garlic. The depth of flavor, sweet smokey aspect and the kick in the face from all the spice make it perfect for dipping veggies or even using it in place of mayo on a wrap or sandwich. Yum!

Week 2

I Rock the Guac… Southern Ranch style! 4 avocados, halved, seeded and peeled, 1 lemon, juiced, 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt, 2 shallots, minced, 1/2 cup of toasted almonds, chopped, 1 package of ranch dressing and 2 teaspoons of Frank’s Hot Sauce if desired. Add some crunchies to the mix and you’re all set

Week 3

Instead of the traditional splash of hot sauce I use a “pepper bomb” that I have premade in the freezer.  Just boil carrots onions and your favorite hot pepper until tender and blend the cooked veggies until they make a smooth paste. Drop teaspoonfulls on a cookie sheet and freeze them for later use in any recipe that needs a little kick!  It will add the spice you need as well as a fresh pepper flavor you’ll love.  Add avocado, minced garlic, lime and lemon juice and salt and you have the perfect guacamole that will have guests raving and asking for more!

  1. LOVE the pepper bomb idea and name — did something similar this summer when I bought way too many hot peppers at the farmers’ market — put them in the food processor and froze in separate lumps and have used them in my homemade pizza sauce for a nice kick.
